Privacy & Cookie Policy

1. Who We Are

The Nourished Plate ("we", "our", or "us") provides community-focused culinary education, workshops, and whole-food nutrition guidance founded by Tim Yeomans.

We are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting any personal information you share with us in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What Information We Collect & Why

We only collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when interacting with our website:

  • Contact & Event Enquiries: When you send a message through our contact form or submit an event enquiry, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message solely to respond to your request and coordinate event attendance.
  • Workshop & Event Bookings: When you book a place or purchase tickets for one of our workshops or community dinners, your booking and contact details (such as your name, email address, attendee details, and payment information) are processed through our ticketing partner, Tickts (TICKTS LTD). This information is used to confirm your reservation, issue tickets, manage event capacity, and communicate essential updates about the event.
  • Newsletter Subscriptions: If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, your contact information (such as your email address and name) is collected and processed through our email service provider, Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), to send you seasonal recipes, workshop announcements, and event updates. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of any newsletter.

3. Our Cookie Policy

Privacy by Design: No Marketing or Tracking Cookies

We do not use tracking pixels (such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads), profiling cookies, or third-party behavioral analytics on this website.

Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we only employ strictly necessary functional mechanisms required to deliver our web services and secure form submissions against automated spam. Because we do not set non-essential marketing or tracking cookies, an intrusive cookie consent pop-up is not required.

Note on Newsletter Analytics: While this website sets no marketing or tracking cookies on your device, emails sent via Mailchimp utilize standard web beacons (single-pixel gifs) and tracked links to measure open rates and engagement. This helps us understand which recipes and workshop topics our community finds most valuable. You can avoid image-based tracking by disabling automatic image loading in your email client.

4. Security & Spam Prevention (Google reCAPTCHA)

To safeguard our website and forms against automated spam, bots, and abuse, we use industry-standard verification technologies, including Google reCAPTCHA v3.

Google reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software signals (such as device information and interaction patterns) to evaluate whether a submission is made by a human visitor. The collection and processing of this data is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.

5. Third-Party Processors & Data Storage

As the data controller, we will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share information with trusted third-party service providers (data processors) who assist us in delivering our services:

  • Contact & Event Enquiries (Google Cloud): Form submissions are stored securely in encrypted cloud infrastructure provided by Google Cloud Platform. We employ strict access controls, encryption in transit and at rest, and access is strictly restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
  • Workshop & Event Bookings (Tickts): Ticket sales and event registrations are managed through our ticketing partner, Tickts (TICKTS LTD, UK Company No. 17029682, ICO Registration ZC108275, tickts.co.uk). When you purchase a ticket, Tickts processes your booking details and coordinates secure payment processing through integrated payment processors (such as Stripe). We receive attendee and order information (such as names, email addresses, and ticket selections) necessary to admit attendees and manage our workshops. The Nourished Plate never handles or stores full payment card details. For further details on how Tickts handles your personal data, please refer to the Tickts Privacy Policy.
  • Newsletter Distribution (Mailchimp): Our subscriber list is managed by Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC / Intuit Inc.). Mailchimp stores data on secure servers located in the United States. International transfers of personal data to Mailchimp are protected under appropriate contractual safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For further details, please refer to the Intuit Global Privacy Statement.

6. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under UK data protection law, you have specific rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to request rectification of inaccurate personal data.
  • The right to request the deletion of your personal data.
  • The right to withdraw consent at any time (e.g., via the one-click unsubscribe link in any newsletter or by contacting us).
